Minor in Entomology

 

Entomology Minor 

Students from a wide range of majors may be interested in incorporating entomology with their undergraduate majors. An undergraduate minor in entomology provides students with a broad understanding of the form and function of insects, their interactions with people and society, and their role as model species for fundamental and applied research. 

To graduate with a minor in entomology, students must complete a minimum of 18 hours of undergraduate coursework in entomology with at least nine hours at or above the 3000 level. Specific requirements include ENTM 2001 and ENTM 4005 and 11 hours from the following: ENTM 3002, ENTM 4002, ENTM 4006, ENTM 4007, ENTM 4012, ENTM 4018, ENTM 4040, ENTM 4099, ENTM 4100, and ENTM 4199.

Minor Field Requirements

Students in the College of Agriculture are not required to pursue a minor. They may choose to do so by the guidelines outlined below:

• A minor is the student’s field of secondary academic emphasis.
• A minor consists of a minimum of 15 hours of related coursework designed to provide breadth and depth in a student’s undergraduate program.
• The specific requirements are determined by the department offering the minor.

Students may not minor and major in the same degree program.
