The Impact Fund of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts provides necessary educational
and professional prospects to advance our performing arts students at LSU.
Our students need a broad array of opportunities to hear guest speakers, be able to
extend their art to unique venues, travel to important conferences that address emerging
trends in the performing arts, and engage in other activities that stretch their talents
and ignite their curiosity. This will allow them to increase their capacity to negotiate
collective creativity, elicit different goals and interests—in themselves and others-and
participate in integrative problem solving.
There is also a need to provide collaborative opportunities among the members of our
creative community—opportunities that go beyond the classroom and into other universities
and the community at large.
Experiences outside of the classroom, studio or stage provide our students with a
well-rounded education that will equip them with the broad range of skills to be successful
artist-citizens in the 21st century.
GIVE TO THE IMPACT FUND

We are in the final stages of planning an approximately $4.9 MM renovation to the
School of Music building.
The John G. Turner & Jerry G. Fischer Recital Hall will feature new seating, acoustical treatments, and a technical balcony for antiphonal
work. The School of Music lobby, a vital nexus for our students and artists, will
be expanded into a large open forum for collaboration and socialization.
This comprehensive re-envisioning of our most-used public spaces will completely transform
everyday life in the College of Music & Dramatic Arts and give students the physical
spaces they need to work together on projects and inspire new artistic works. This
project reaffirms our commitment to being a premiere performing arts institution and
cultural anchor for the city of Baton Rouge. These renovations are possible thanks
to the generous contribution of donors, alumni, and friends of the LSU College of
Music & Dramatic Arts.
